I have been very active in the Parents Teachers Association (PTA) or Persatuan Ibu Bapa dan Guru (PIBG) for over a decade.  I am currently the Chairman or Yang Di Pertua (YDP) for two government schools, namely SMK Alam Damai and SMK Seri Mutiara which are both in Cheras.  Leading a Parents Teachers Association (PTA) gives me a sense of accomplishment as I am able to effectively manage and coordinate with a diverse group of parents, teachers, and administrators.

I am passionate with my role to hopefully inspire and motivate others to get involved and make a difference. The schools face many challenges in the form of building and classroom maintenance, poverty, bullying, insufficient funds for activities, teaching resources and student health & safety. Parents can play a role to support the school either in person or through monitory contributions.

Although the school is a place for learning but more emphasis needs to be done to encourage a sense of belonging.  Vandalism unfortunately is rampant especially where students deface school property and the toilets are often in dire need of fixing due to misuse and breakage of doors, toilet bowls, sinks and urinals.
